Telecoms

Our specialist telecoms team consists of lawyers and surveyors who work together to advise on complex projects across the telecoms sector. From the Shared Rural Network (SRN) project to the Government’s Wireless Infrastructure Strategy, digital connectivity is very much at the heart of new and existing infrastructure across the UK.

We advise on the deployment of telecoms infrastructure, including land referencing to support new site identification and renewals, landlord asset mapping services, site acquisitions and new leases, planning and due diligence support, Code property valuations, land acquisition negotiations, land access management, GIS plan production, power connection, wayleave support and project management.

We also advise on estate management, including the application of the Electronic Communications Code (ECC) and the Telecommunications Act 1984, the valuation of telecoms rights under the new ECC (including acting as expert witness), agreeing terms for uncontested and contested lease renewals, high speed cost effective legal transactional support across high volumes of lease renewals to support cost savings, service of notices under the ECC and advising and implementing strategies to enforce code rights, access dispute issues, trespass by travellers and neighbours and rent reviews.

Telecoms systems are one of the most crucial aspects of a business’ infrastructure. The impact of any dispute about these systems can be serious, causing both financial implications and reputational damage. We help our clients to protect their businesses and where disputes about their systems arise, we are experienced at devising a strategy to minimise these risks, resolve the conflict and achieve a commercial resolution.
