Expertise

Simon is a specialist in setting up residential developments for major housebuilders following their acquisition in readiness for plot sales.  This involves attending site set-up meetings with clients and preparing the necessary legal documentation. He also provides continued support and guidance in legal issues which may evolve during the lifespan of the sites.

Simon will also review and obtain Land Registry approval for estate plans and will offer support to developers in ensuring these estate plans are compliant with current Land Registry requirements.

Simon also deals with management agreements and managed land transfers for housebuilders where there is a resident’s management company involved, as well as dealing with transfers of open space and residual land.  He will also advise and support on plot enquiries on existing and legacy developments, as well as with deeds of variation or rectification for individual properties.

Simon has a wealth of knowledge in residential property and prior to joining Gateley spent 7 years acting for registered providers which included a secondment for an RP client.

Experience

  1. Advising and assisting on a multi-tenure site set-up for over 400 residential units.
  2. Drafting documentation for site set-ups including contracts, leases and transfers.
  3. Assisting housebuilders with deeds of variation excluding the provisions of S121 of the Law of Property Act 1925 to ensure their transfers are compliant with the latest requirements of Homes England and mortgage lenders.
