Experience

  1. Acted for a company director accused of large-scale fraud. Richard represented the client during several police interviews and during proceedings at the Crown Court including POCA confiscation.
  2. Acted for a financial advisor who was accused of being involved in a ‘boiler room’ fraud. Richard represented the defendant when he was interviewed by HM Revenue and Customs officers. After a two-year long investigation all charges were dropped.
  3. Acted for a defendant charged with multiple counts of rape and serious sexual offences alleged by four separate complainants. Richard was able to identify evidence that showed that the allegation made by two of the four complainants was demonstrably untrue. As a result, the convictions were appealed to the Court of Appeal.
  4. Acted for a construction site manager accused of gross negligence manslaughter following the death of a carpenter in a fatal fall from height. The site manager was supported through a cautioned interview conducted jointly by the Police and HSE in which the allegations were vigorously rebuffed and gaps in the Police evidence were challenged.
  5. Acted for a company director accused of environmental fraud and money laundering. Defending the client and company in prosecution and OCA proceedings by the EA.
