Francesca is part of both the immigration and employment teams and routinely advises clients on overlapping issues such as right to work. 

Immigration

Francesca undertakes a wide variety of visa applications including on the Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility and Family routes as well as advising on applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain and Naturalisation. 

She assists clients with making sponsor licence applications as well as advising on ensuring they continue to be compliant with their sponsor management duties. 

Francesca has significant experience in advising clients on right to work related issues including process improvement, training and auditing. She also supports, in her employment capacity, with how to appropriately deal with employees who no longer have the right to work in the UK.

Francesca also advises on the immigration aspects of corporate transactions.

Employment

Francesca advises on both non-contentious and contentious employment matters as well as immigration law. 

She assists clients with matters such as managing sickness, disciplinaries and grievances as well as advising on redundancies, TUPE transfers and other related matters. Francesca regularly drafts employment contracts, staff handbooks/ policies and settlement agreements for clients in a variety of sectors.

Francesca also regularly conducts Employment Tribunal litigation on a variety of claims including whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal.

Francesca supports clients in corporate transactions by undertaking due diligence exercises and drafting and negotiating documents including service agreements and settlement agreements.

Experience

  1. Advising a claimant on a multi-respondent whistleblowing detriment claim listed for 4-weeks in the Employment Tribunal. 
  2. Defending a protective award claim with a liability of c.£1.5m.
  3. Advising on a TUPE-related unfair dismissal claim at first instance and through the appeals process.
  4. Advising on a large-scale right to work audit for a large, multi-location business from and employment and immigration perspective.
  5. Making entry clearance and leave to remain applications on sponsored work routes for a variety of clients in different sectors.
  6. Making applications for private clients on the Family and Dependant routes as well as applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain and Naturalisation.
