Dominic deals with real estate related disputes, particularly between landlords and tenants but also owners and developers.

He has experience across several sectors including retail, public houses, local authority, leisure, hospitality and mixed-use premises.

Dominic also provides advice on real estate transactions.

How do you help clients?

I assist clients with all aspects of asset management, including the preparation and service of notices.

I assist commercial landlords manage their assets in respect of any disputes relating to repair, service charge, dilapidations and arrears. 

I help commercial tenants with interpretation of lease clauses and any disputes relating to these. I also assist tenants in terminating leases and providing advice in respect of assignments/ sub-lettings. 

Where necessary, I advise, negotiate and litigate disputes and have experience in dealing with cases up to and including the Court of Appeal.

Experience

  1. Recovering possession of a mixed-use public house which included a residential flat upstairs.
  2. Advising on and preparing the relevant notice in respect of tenant’s rights of first refusal for the sale of a residential block of flats.
  3. Resolving a dispute on behalf of a retail tenant in respect of a contested break notice.
  4. Successfully recovering possession for a commercial landlord from a tenant who had remained in occupation following expiry of its lease, where the tenant had continued to pay rent.
  5. Successfully negotiating a settlement on behalf of a tenant in respect of roof repairs.
