Expertise
Caroline has a breadth of experience representing developer and housebuilder clients, alongside niche developers. She also has expertise in general investment work including high-value lettings and both industrial and data centre acquisitions.
Prior to joining Gateley, Caroline worked in the London office of a major international law firm.
How do you help clients?
I help clients navigate complex and often time sensitive transactions with multiple stakeholders. I seek to provide pragmatic, commercial advice and to present complex legal points in an accessible way.
Experience
- Acting for a Plc housebuilder on their acquisition of a Homes England site within a prominent regeneration area in southern England (including advising on Homes England’s pace obligations and overage in the development agreement).
- Advising a commercial developer on the lettings of two development sites in southern England to an international logistics operator and a multi-national pharmaceutical company with the transaction encompassing the forward funding of the developments to a private equity fund. This meant working alongside two sets of lawyers and spearheading the transaction.
- Acting for a Plc housebuilder on their most expensive single site acquisition to date, a riverside development site in London.
- Advising a smaller niche landowner-developer client on the sale, subject to planning, of a 90-unit site to a housebuilder.
- Acting for a social housing REIT investing in a diverse portfolio of properties across the UK including student accommodation, residential buildings and new build properties. My involvement also included dealing with long-term inflation-linked leases to housing associations and associated security documentation.
