Adrian Boyd has 29 years’ post-graduate experience as a building surveyor acting as a contract administrator, project manager, and employer’s agent of building works predominantly to schools and industrial warehouses, commercial properties such as airport properties, private care home, private hospital, ambulance stations, residential properties, and retirement homes.

Adrian has also undertaken condition surveys of schools, railway stations, hospitality hotels and planned preventative maintenance schedules of schools and airport properties.

Adrian also has some professional experience of preparing dilapidations Scott Schedules, party wall matters, and has very recently completed expert witness training.

Adrian has five years’ post-graduate experience as an insurance building surveyor handling building peril claims such as subsidence, fire, storm, flood, escape of water, etc., and acting as a contract administrator and project manager during the reinstatement works and preparing defects reports.

How do you help clients?

I help and assist policyholders through the insurance buildings process from inception of the claim to completion of reinstatement works and handover. I help and assist clients progress building insurance related claims and defects reports/ advice for apportioning responsibility.

Experience

  1. Using my construction technology skills in defect analysis for policyholders who do not understand.
  2. Assisting an insurer as an insurance building surveyor on a claim with a loss assessor acting for the policyholder that is in dispute and may still go to Court.
  3. Broadening my knowledge and skillset by dealing with something new, a claim for AD to a swimming pool.
  4. Using my defect analysis skills to conclude with a different causation from the view of a contractor and drying company giving piece of mind to the policyholder.
