Our residential development team has successfully completed two significant deals for Avant Homes, both of which were led by partner, Leanne Murray.
£32m mixed-use development in the North West
Leanne and our Manchester-based residential development team lead on the acquisition for Avant Homes’ first mixed-use development site in the North West. The project will have a gross development value of £32m.
Named Oakview Quarter, the 20-acres of land in Great Eccleston will be developed into 115 practically designed, energy-efficient homes and will also benefit from a new primary school, medical centre, community centre, commercial and retail spaces.
Work is anticipated to start in April and the development will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, which will appeal to a wide range of buyers at different price points.
Major £59.5m private rented sector (PRS) deal for Avant Homes with Sigma Capital Group
Supported by our Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds residential development teams, Leanne also advised Avant Homes on its first national private rented sector deal worth £59.5m.
The milestone deal will see the developer deliver 306 new homes across eight sites, along with supporting infrastructure, to leading single family housing provider in the UK, Sigma Capital Group. Four of the developments are located in the North East, two in Yorkshire and two in the East Midlands.
Avant Homes will hand over the completed homes to Sigma Capital Group on each of the developments, which will be marketed under Sigma Capital Group’s private rental brand, Simple Life.
Leanne and the residential development team also received support from the construction team which included partner, Hayley Sullivan, solicitor, Katriona Beveridge and trainee solicitor, Oliver Kneale.
Avant Homes required a bespoke construction contract for the eight development sites. The construction team liaised with Avant Homes’ team of consultants and sub-contracts and procured over 80 collateral warranties and letters of reliance in favour of the purchaser.
