We have advised leading UK venture capital manager, Praetura Ventures, on a ground breaking GMC Life Sciences Fund in an investment boost for the life science sector in North West England.
GMC Life Sciences Fund is a collaborative partnership between Praetura Ventures and first closing investors, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership and Bruntwood SciTech.
Partner Ravi Longia, who heads Gateley’s investment funds practice and led our advice on this deal, said: “We are proud to have advised Praetura Ventures on this successful fund raising. Without doubt, the GMC Life Sciences Fund is not a typical fund in that it aims to bolster Greater Manchester’s and Cheshire and Warrington’s flourishing life sciences sectors, and Gateley Legal is pleased to have been one of the key facilitators in this transaction.
“Our work on establishing and launching the GMC Life Sciences Fund comes on the back of a series of recent successful fund raisings advised by Gateley Legal’s Investment Funds group and underlies our strength and expertise in and across the fund formation, venture capital and life sciences spaces.”
