We have successfully advised on the pre-pack sale of Thomas Storey Fabrications Group’s business and assets to TAL Engineering, backed by Baaj Capital.
Thomas Storey Fabrications Group, a steel fabricator based in Openshaw, Greater Manchester, is known for its work as the original manufacturer of the Bailey bridge system. The company, which has a heritage spanning over 100 years, fell into administration due to financial pressures exacerbated by global market volatility and supply chain challenges. Chris Ratten and Gareth Harris of RSM UK were appointed as joint administrators and facilitated the sale of the business and its assets in a pre-pack administration sale.
The acquisition ensures the preservation of all 110 jobs at Thomas Storey Fabrications Group. This transaction guarantees continuity of trade but also represents a significant achievement in the steel industry, securing the company’s operations and safeguarding its workforce.
Our restructuring advisory team was led by partner Aneesh Prasad, supported by legal director Helen Jones, solicitor Katie Rice, and trainee solicitor Imogen Sheppard.
Aneesh Prasad commented: “We are delighted to have played a pivotal role in securing the future of Thomas Storey Fabrications Group, collaborating closely with RSM UK on the pre-pack sale. This transaction not only preserves the legacy of a historic British manufacturer but also ensures a stable future for its employees. The successful outcome highlights our commitment to achieving the best possible results for our clients.”
