We have advised private equity and alternative investment platform Connection Capital on the management buy-out of Jermyn Street Design (JSD) from its original founders.

JSD is a B Corp certified, UK-based custom uniform provider. It provides bespoke, sustainable corporate clothing and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of uniforms for its customers to ensure consistent availability and delivery of garments to workforces in over 80 countries.

Our corporate team was led by partner and Nottingham head of corporate Victoria Elliott, supported by senior associate Jamie Gillespie, associate Sophie Holdsworth and solicitor Zhuo Li. The team was further supported by colleagues across banking and finance, real estate, IP, commercial & technology, regulatory & business defence, tax, employment and pensions.

Connection Capital’s private client investors were quick to see the attractions of this investment opportunity and liked how we structured the transaction. We’re also grateful to Victoria and the team at Gateley Legal, whose legal guidance and deep expertise in private equity transactions ensured the process was executed smoothly and efficiently.
Claire Madden, Managing Partner, Connection Capital

Victoria Elliott added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with the team at Connection Capital on its backing of JSD’s MBO. At Gateley Legal, we understand how important it is for investors to feel confident in the legal framework underpinning their investments. Working with Connection Capital, we were able to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice that supported a well-structured transaction.”
