We have advised Northern Ireland-based Beechlands Enterprises on its significant investment into Britten-Norman, a UK utility aircraft manufacturer.

The transaction is part of Britten-Norman’s second funding round. Securing significant capital from Beechlands will allow the company to scale its operations, invest in advanced manufacturing tools and machinery, and complete its aircraft manufacturing repatriation programme.

Headquartered on the Isle of Wight, Britten-Norman is the UK’s leading manufacturer of utility aircraft, having supplied to over 120 countries since its establishment 70 years ago. Its most notable aircraft are the Islander and the militarised Defender, both of which will see an increase in production volumes as a result of Beechlands’ investment.

Gateley Legal’s cross-disciplinary team consisted of partners Bernhard Gilbey, Andrew Cowan, Alexander Wood, and Rebecca North and solicitors Amy Ellis, Paige Richardson, Katie Rice, and James Allen.

Bernhard Gilbey commented: “We are proud to have advised Beechlands on its successful investment into Britten-Norman. The transaction is a great example of how significant capital investment can boost Britain’s manufacturing sector, with Britten-Norman now able to deliver its business strategy and retain its position as a leading UK utility aircraft manufacturer.”
