From developments in the Employment Rights Bill to National Minimum Wage rates and Vento bands, it’s fair to say 2025 has so far been a busy time in the world of employment law.
Beyond these changes, there have also been several significant employment law cases in the past year, including For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers. The outcomes of these cases offer guidance to employers, but they have also left questions unanswered particularly regarding workplace disputes involving conflicting beliefs between employees, such as those with gender-critical views and those with trans-positive views. This ambiguity makes it challenging for employers to fully understand their obligations, which is discussed in further detail in the report.
With so much to unpack already from 2025, we are pleased to launch our latest ‘10 key employment law developments’ report.
Paul Ball, employment partner at Gateley Legal, said: “Since our last update in December 2024, the world of employment law has remained as busy as ever. For employers and people leaders, the constant developments in employment law can seem like a minefield at times, so to cut through the noise we’ve produced an easy to digest report looking at the top 10 developments that employers need to be aware of, covering a wide range of topics that will provide you with a solid understanding of the current landscape.
